Invoices, delivery notes, cheques and reports: printing is part of daily Tally work. On the cloud, how you print depends on how you connect.
Two ways to print
| How you connect | How printing works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Remote Desktop app (Download RDP) | Tally prints straight to the printer connected to your computer | Daily billing, cheque printing, bulk invoices |
| Open in browser | Tally creates a PDF that downloads to your computer; you print or share it | Occasional prints, working from a borrowed or shared computer |
Printing with the Remote Desktop app
- Make sure your printer works from your own computer.
- Download the RDP file from your portal and open it.
- In Tally, print as usual. Your local printer appears in the printer list.
If you use pre-printed stationery or cheque formats, set them up once in Tally on the cloud, exactly as you did on your office PC.
Printing from the browser
When you print from Tally opened in a browser, the print becomes a PDF file that downloads to your computer. Open it and print, or send it by email or WhatsApp. This works on any computer, even when you cannot install anything.
Tips for smooth printing
- Use the RDP app on the computer you print from most.
- Keep your printer driver up to date on your own PC.
- For thermal or special printers, test once and tell our support team if anything looks wrong.
Exporting instead of printing
Need Excel or PDF copies of reports? Export them from Tally as usual. If you are not sure how to get exported files onto your own computer with your connection type, raise a ticket and our support team will show you.
